Predict / Infer
What did you think will happen next? Use clues from text.
Visualize
What pictures do you see in your head while reading?
Question
Ask your own questions to understand what you're reading. Use question words like who, what, when, where, why & how.
Evaluate
Make a judgement about what you're reading. Did you like it? Did you learn anything from it?
Connect
What does this remind you of in real life or in another text?
Summarize
Tell the most important parts. What happened in the beginning? Middle? End?
